  • how to fix my fender blues junior

    im getting a broken blues junior from my dad. he says the treble knob is broken. not just the knob but the whole pot is broken off. where do i get a replacement pot and how do i attach it? do i need to solder? or what?

    Hi,
    The Blues Jr. pots are soldered to the main PC Board and the shaft protrudes through the front panel without any other support. i.e. no shaft nut. Maybe the shaft just pulled out of the pot body. I frequently get amps in for repair where the owner initially says “All it needs is…”. They rarely are right. You need to have a look see inside and asses the overall damage. If your amp just needs a treble pot then I’d recommend getting a part replacement from a store or shop that will order it for you from Fender. That’s to make sure the footprint and overall size is correct. Then you will need to be able to solder to a PC board and will probably need to de-solder the remnants of the old part first.
