    This is a major portion of my life as a working bench tech. Most faults, especially intermittent ones are mechanical.

    Solder problems are found with single sided boards that are wave soldered. Current Fender and recent SLM products are pretty notorious for these issues.

    Dirt sounds like dirt. Clean is good.
