  • peavy problems

my peavy recently took a short (maybe 6") fall and it compleatly stoped working. as it being a solid state i figured it would just take the beating but when i plugged it in later that night it didnt wokr at all, so i figured maybe the fuse was blown, so i replaced the fuse. i then plugged my amp in again and heard that famillier hum, but in less then a second a very loud crack/buzz came balreing out of the amp. my friend eric says the power supply could be loose as was the problem with his peavy of the same model (larger wattage) can someone tell me what's wrong with my amp?

No one will know until they look inside. It fell, something was knocked loose. COuld be a wire came off, or a whole connector full of wires. A nut or screw might have come loose and found its way under a circuit board, shorting things out. A component may have broken off the board and is swinging around. Whole circuit boards could break free and be flopping around touching who knows what.

Really, someone has to look inside and see what's up. As to what electrical damage has now been done, a tech can determine that.

Well, by "looking inside" I include doing electrical checks.

If it has a PC board, it could be cracked between solder connections. I've seen it before. Just my tw0 cents!
