Any advice here would be helpful. I have a sound system consisting of
four(4) dual 15" w/1" Horn speakers (tops) and four(4) single 18" subs.
I have used them quite extensively for about 3 years now.
While doing a festival, my tops simultaneously lost all of their mid-range tones. Later, after the show, I set them up and tried to trouble shoot and discovered that the tops have almost lost their signal completely.
The only sound that comes through is very faint, mono-toned, and "cracklely".
I inspected each speaker and horn. Each speaker looked solid, showing no indication visually of anything wrong with them. All the cones were good as are the horns. I then inspected the internal crossovers and noticed that each speaker cabinet had the same capacitor popped. I then replaced each capacitor and retested, but there was no improvement.
I then thought perhaps it was my rackmount crossover. So I switched everything to the "2nd" channel, but nothing changed. Now I am out of ideas. Any ideas at all would be much appreciated.
Thanks so much. :-)
