  • Speaker problem

    Hi guys

Iīm having a bit of trouble with a speaker... it is a 15" subwoofer I found at a junk sale last fall... the problem is that is sounds like the speaker cone could be shreded... (itīs not...) sort of a buzzing sound when I crank my 5w champ... sounds ok at low volume... seems to be fine when I put my fingers at the cone and play... no buzzing then...

anybody got a good diy fix for this?

    glue? tape?
donīt want to blow money on having it fixed by a pro or such...

Junk sale may be the key phrase here. Look to see if the wires from the terminal point going to the cone havent been moved to where it contacts the cone during cone movement from higher signal levels.

It could just be physically shotout from abusive use since many want the big thump and tend to overdrive the transducer.

      Or the voice coil rubs.
