  • 3-prong cord for Fender Champ

Just wanted to know if I could get some advice on installing a 3-prong grounded cord to my Fender Champ. Thanks!!!!

    Hi.

Hope I can help you. I have a (diy) champ of my own, with a 3-prong grounded cord. I made it so that the ground is directly connected to the chassis by a short (2in / 5cm) ground wire (just an ordinary wire).
you should make sure that there is a good and solid connection between the cord and the chassis.

    Hope that helps

Sir 6V6, When you mentioned the ground to the chassis are you referring to the green wire? Thanks, Rayme

I think this is the safe way to rewire it:

            Fender amp AC cord conversion

This moves both the power switch and fuse to the black wire. If there is a ground switch then many people use the switch as a standby as you would not use a ground switch any more.
