This head is humming badly when the compressor switch is engaged. I checked for DC on IC104 output and seems fine. However the neg voltage supply for the opamps is at -27v, NOT the specified -18v. I checked the regulator voltages and pins OUT and IN are both at -27v. I will replace and see if that does the trick... oh and the regulator (7818) is indeed grounded.

It was easy advice. Whenever I encounter an op amp based circuit with issues, first thing I check is power rails and output pins. You checked the power rails, and I was looking for DC ofset.Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.Comment
