Hello, could anyone suggest a sub for an op-amp, MC33078? I found someone suggesting the AD8599 online, but the parts store in my area has nothing that subs to either of those. Could anyone suggest a more common IC that would work?

Mouser has 22 versions of them, depending on what package you want them in, DIP or SOIC, etc. In stock, under a dollar, why mess around?
As to subs, if you mention what it is the part is doing, what gear it is in, we might be able to recommend something. Is the application special in any way? As far as I can see it is merely a low noise op amp. Stick a general purpose 4560 in there and see what happens. A 5532 is a low noise op amp, try that. Dual op amps all have the same pinout, so to that extent they are interchangable. What op amps do you have? 2068? 4580? Good old 4558? MC1458?
If this is some super low noise digital recorder inoput buffer or something, then noise might be an issue. If it is the regulator feedback for a power supply, then who cares.Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.
