  • need Behringer part ASAP !!

Im one of those people with really, realllly bad luck/.

i need to sell my Behringer amp immediatly--and of course.....i moved it today and broke off a pot . of course.

Ive heard that you cannot get parts for these --------anywhere.

so--i desperately need the "Gain" pot for a LX-112 behringer V-ampire combo.

If anyone has access to behringer at all , i REALLY need this pot right away

    can anyone here help ???

email me please--- 493dart AT gmail.com

It is not a pot, it is an encoder.

    behringer part number is 832-30025-09451

It is an Alps EC12E24104F25. That is part of the EC12E family of encoders from Alps. search Mouser for "EC12E" and you will get a few similar ones. Not same exact though.

      thank you Enzo -------

      BUT-- Disregard.

I just got into a big fight for 45 minutes? --trying to get the old pot off the board.

      Im OUT .

I will NEVER go near a behringer product again--purchase or repair.

Cant even get the old pot out. Ive always heard these are throw away products. And I just went through it.

      FU#@#@ ING GARBAGE.

im going to cut my loss and get this thing out of my house---with the broken pot.

      Never again.

I bet you $100 when i bolt it back together it doesnt work (just from taking it apart.)

      wow.

How on earth were you trying to remove it? You need a good clean hot iron tip and some sort of solder removal. If you are trying to melt solder and pull it out while doing so, that will never work. I don;t see anything different about how they mount soldered controls from anyone else doing it.

          a solder sucker , solder wick / braid , 2 different Weller irons .

Its soldered on both sides of the board. Theres a big stupid LED ring surrounding the pot thats in the way with tons of mini joints.

OK, the part is bad, you have no intention to use it again. SNip the legs off it as close to the body as possible. Then you can heat each leg piece and pull it from the hole separately with needle noses. Now the body is held in by a couple snap-in tabs. Get a small screwdriver under the side of the part and heat one snap to melt the solder. You should be able to CAREFULLY pull one side up a little. Now melt the other leg and wedge it up. We don;t want to apply force and pull traces off the board, we just want to move the thing out of the molten solder. SOmetimes I use flush cutters and snip off the underside part of the leg so it isn;t "snapped in" any longer.

Alternatively, if you have cutters that can get in there, cut the part away from its mounting legs, leaving the legs soldered into the holes. Then you can pull the leg remainder from the holes just as we did with the signal legs.

Ever notice if you take a bone dry sponge and try to wipe up some water it doesn;t work very well? But wet the sponge first, then it does? Just like that, when trying to clear solder from a hole on a board, wet the solder first with fresh solder. You should now have holes free of part legs bug still having solder in them. Briefly heat each hole adding some fresh solder to fill it. NOW extract the solder from each hole. it should be as l;ot easier than if you start with the hole half full of old s0lder.

I use a desoldering station, but those cock it and press the button solder suckers actually work pretty well. I hate braid. Using a sucker. I see some guys heat the solder, then at the last second they pull the iron away and stuff the sucker in place and suck solder. This doesn;t work so well. Leave the iron top on the joint while you put the sucker snout on top. Trigger the sucker, the molten solder will flow aroudn the iron tip.

you cant get to one side of it . the part is surrounded by a big Led ring.

Anyway Enzo , thanks , but --- Im done fighting that thing--its back together and the knob is super glued on for now.

No more Behringer stuff for me.
