Hi
I've an Acoustic 220 bass amp and would appreciate some advice on getting the EQ fully back in action. The 70 and 2000Hz EQ sliders aren't working due to the fact that the inductors for these have been removed by someone who took them to repair something else or use in some other project (as I understand it).
Everything's good with the amp, so just needs these replaced and all will be well.
I looked through the forums and did find someone giving advice on getting inductors custom made (not an viable option for me just now as funds are very tight). I tracked down a schematic for the amp and looks like originally there was a 93MHY for the 2000Hz and a 3HY for the 70Hz and then I looked on ebay for any possible (cheap) cost effective solution.
Problem is my electronics knowledge here would fit on a postage stamp and was bewildered by the variety of high current, low current, bobbin type, radial lead etc etc
I'm sorry if this sounds a stupid question but is there any possibility of any advice on which are likely to be the most suitable regarding things such as likely current range I should be looking for in this situation? Looking inside the amp the remaining ones look to be of the bobbin type - is that format relevant for replacement or will other formats do provided they fit?
Any advice on what I should be looking for on these type of points and any other things to bear in mind to put me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
