marshall vs 100

just picked up a marshall vs100, i pluged it up and it is noisy as crap!

can this be the resualt of a worn out preamp tube?

all suggestions welcome please.

Hello Bill, welcome to the forum.
Could you be more specific? What kind of noise are we talking about? Hiss, crackle, hum, squealing...
Does the noise stop when you turn down the volume (or some other) pot? Does the noise occur when a guitar (or no guitar) is plugged in?
