  • Question using a extension Cabinet with combo.

Hello, First post here. I have a Peavey Valveking 212 which has 2 12" 16ohm speakers in it. It looks like the wiring is set for Parallel to get a 8 ohm load. I have another extension Cabinet with Celestion V30's 16 ohm as well, set in Parallel. Plugging in both sets of speakers, should I switch my impedence switch to 4 ohm or leave it at 8 ohm??

If you are sure that the internal speakers are parallel AND the ext cab is 8 ohms AND that the ext jack on your amp is parallel to the main speaker jack, you should set your impedance to 4 ohms.

Thanks, I check it out with a mutimeter, the Valveking speakers are showing 9.6 ohms the V30's are showing 7.9, so when using both I set the impedence at 4 ohms, single cab at 8 ohms. Thanks
