Danelectro Centurion Amp Vibrato Issues

Hi i'm pretty new to electronics as it stands so 'm having some difficulty with this danelectro centurion I just picked up.

The issue is that the vibrato is not functioning. When i unplug the guitar cable and listen, i'm able to hear a faint oscillation in the sound . If i adjust the speed the oscillation reacts accordingly. I've found the schematic on schematic heaven and saw that the amp originally came with a dual footswitch. I'm not sure if i'm reading this correctly but might this footswicth be what turns the effect on/off and allow me to put the amp in "standby" mode?

If this is what's causing the problem then i'd have to build a footswitch but its not on the schematic. Can anyone out there help me?

Danelectro Centurion Vibrato issues

I have been having the same issue with my centurion. I had the vibrato tube replaced and the vibrato began working again(the amp also was much quieter/less noisy afterwards), but sometimes it will randomly stop working. Usually if I unplug the amp (after turning it off and letting it cool) and then turn it back on, the vibrato will function properly. I've also tried using the footswitch from my twin reverb, and have had mixed results, sometimes it seems to work, and sometimes not. I am wondering if I can do damage to the amp by using the twin footswitch, and why this issue is recurring?

I have a silvertone 1472 which I believe is almost the same amp? Anyway I had the exact same problem - speed knob worked but tremolo was very weak. I replaced all the caps in the trem circuit and it sounds great now.
