  • Circiit board repair

I am looking for repair parts for PC boards
I saw on a web site you can replace lifted ribbons on PC boards
I need the round contact pads that you put the leads of parts in to solder like these

    here is a site

    Any place cheaper

Pad rework is more trouble than it is worth. I either use a piece of thin bus wire or even wire-wrap to solder to what is left of the land and then to the component, or simply fold over the component lead and solder to the remaining land, if the lead reaches. You must scrape the conformal coating off of the land first to expose fresh copper to solder to.

      What JRFrond said.

Plus - it it's a 4-layer (or more) board and you've disconnected the barrel from an internal trace or plane, you'll have to find where it went and jumper to that spot.

Amen, I agree. Sticking a little copper circle on the board doesn;t get you where you want to be. You would still have to run a wire over the the remainder of the trace leading away.

I will usually use jumper wires to repair burned traces too when it is possible but I have in the past made repairs to single layer PCB donuts and traces with materials from this website:

          http://webtronics.stores.yahoo.net/p...-supplies.html

The condutive pens are quite useful. I have also used the stick on copper donuts, trace sheets and the cutter as well as the adhesive and overcoat pens. The bottom line is the board area must be cleaned with acetone and you can't touch any of the replacement material with your fingers.
Warning! Some Electronics devices contain lethal voltages that can kill you. If you do not feel qualified to work with dangerous voltages, refer your repairs to a qualified technician. By giving you online advice, I am assuming no liability for any injury or damages you might incur through your own actions.

I agree with you all about the jumpers
board are not made to keep replacing components
that is why I love tube amps

I can see where the plumbing is going

            Thanks to all
