  • Marshall DSL401 clean channel cutting out

My JCM2000 DSL401 combi is cutting out. The green light flickers and the sounds comes and goes. Actually seems to be worse once the amp has had a chance to warm up. The problem only affects the clean channel. The overdrive channel is perfectly fine. Does anyone have any ideas???? Please help!!

Have you tried changing out tubes?

These amps are notorious for bad solder joints. The fact that the green led is flickerfing and that the prob gets worse as the amp gets hotter suggests a loose connection/bad solder joint!

Thanks for your help guys. Checked tubes and they're ok. Does seem to be a connection problem though as issue lies with the channel footswitch. Not sure if it's the jack or socket yet but removing the footswitch remedies the issue. Thanks again.

I'd check the solder connections on the footswitch jack
