  • Help!! I connected a burned my Fender DeVille

Sorry for my bad english, in the post it should say; I connected and burned my Fender DeVille...

Hi guys, just a little question to any of you with some experience with the Fender Deville 212 (120 V). Yesterday friend of mine connected the amp here in Europe without knowing he needed to use the stepdown transformer that changes 240 V to 120 V so he conected directly to 240 V and the amp of course now it doesnt turn on.

My question; is the fuse supposed to protect the amp from such stupid action?? Do you think that changing the fuse may fix it???

    Thank in advance!!!

    R

Fuses are there to prevent amp failures from catching fire and setting your house aflame.

The fuse is no doubt blown, but until you try a new fuse, we won;t know what other damage may have occured.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

Be sure to use a fuse with the same rating - a blown fuse is a symptom, not a problem in and of itself.

In other words, have a few spares on hand until you get the problem sorted. Have you heard of the Light Bulb Limiter? You may need one to keep currents down while you do some diagnosis.

      Hope this helps!
