  • master reverb 30 starting to choke

    Hi all.

    i have a quick question.
    i have a marshall mater reverb 30
it is a solid state amp single channel.

out of the blue it has started to cut out when ever i have the pre amp level up past 1/3, anything less is just fine, but anything over and there is no sound?

could this be a simple as a dirty pot?

    thanks

I found this post because I also own a "Master Reverb 30"

Did you solved the problem by now?
What do you mean by "cut out"? Does the fuse blow or the "thermal cutout" kick in.

Do you drive this amp with a high output signal?

You can try to disconnect the secondary power leads and add in steps power to the power-amp and pre-amp (R35+R35) and put a corresponding signal on the power-amp input.
