  • 50 Caliber reverb wire

Hello I had taken the chassis out to clean the pots and find why I had weak reverb. I found a 2" white wire dangling from the end of the reverb tank. It looks like a ground wire from what I have seen in other Caliber plus pics. I hope someone has the same head .50 Caliber with EL84 (not the plus) and provide a pic to fix it or if I can solder this to the chassis

    Thanks

In the first photo...I can see what looks like a broken PCB lead hole. Or more accurate...it looks like the contact broke away from the board and stayed attached to the wire. Look carefully at the circuit board location just to the right of the white wire...do you see the solder points for the 9-pin tube? Look to the point to the left of the socket leads.

Not saying that this is the location where the wire would go, but it definitley looks suspect to me.

    Good luck.

      problem fixed

Turns out after speaking to Mesa that the wire is a ground and should be soldered to the ground wire attached to the speaker inputs on the rear of the chassis. Easy fix . Good support from Mesa

      Thanks everyone
