I have a small Squier Sidekick Amp (5"- speaker, TDA2030, actual Wattage unknown) that is incredibly noisy in the overdrive mode.
The overdrive is just switchable - no gain pot.
Is there any cure?
Does anyboy have a schematic?
I traced part of the amp an I found that the first amplifier stage (around an jrc4558) has just a gain of 2.5! and the input impedance is only 220k.
The OD part has a gain of 45 and two 2n4148 clipping diodes.
I am thinking of increasing the gain of the first stage and reducing the gain of the OD stage plus using red leds for clipping.
And I will increase the input impedance to 470k at least.
Any more Ideas?
