  • Old Ampeg SVT Can Caps

What do you guys use for the old SVT can cap replacements. I've looked at CE Dist. and others and was wondering if anyone had a direct replacement for the old black paper can cap that is rivoted in. I can't read the uf values as it's all gone but from the schemo I'm thinking 70uf /40uf @ 600. Just wondering what you guys use ?

First thing we (I) do is consult the schematic for the correct value(s). Then check all my suppliers for possible replacements. As far as I know there are no direct replacements for these multi-caps. Replacement usually consists of mounting individual caps inside the chassis.

Yeah been there and done that and was trying to get around it. I checked all the houses and couldn't find a direct either. I think I'm going to get an 80,30,20,20 and some mounters and go with it. It's the real Mc'coy and in pretty good shape but I appreciate you Rick as always

FLIPTOPARTS - they claim to have most of Ampeg replacements parts. I have not dealt with these guys myself so take it for what it is - just a tip.
