Bugera 333xl-212 Issue

hello guys, i m new in amp world etc and i think i ve got a problem.
i ve had the Bugera 333xl-212 for 2 months now, which i bought despite having heard about the product problems. so here's the problem. I just turned off the amp without having fully turned the volume all the way down. After 10 seconds the amp made a noise like the volume swelling and then silence (it was turned off at the time). When i tried to turn it on again no lights went on, no sound no nothing. Is it the usual fuse issue? or worse?

Probably took a fuse. I'd be ready to replace some power tubes, just in case.

forgive my asking (since i am inexperienced), by power tubes you mean the 6l6 tubes and the 12ax7? if thats the case will i have to replace all of them (4 6l6 and 4 12ax7)? thanks again!

"Power tubes" refers to the large 6L6 tubes. They are the ones that provide power to the speaker. The 12AX7 tubes - the smaller ones - are generally referred to as "preamp tubes." Technically speaking, one of them - -the one closest to the power tubes - is called the "phase inverter." That is really not a preamp function, it is part of the powr amp. However, it is still a 12AX7. All the 12AX7s are the same type tube, regardless of the job they are doing.

The power tubes are the ones that can take out fuses when they fail.. As a rule, the preamp tubes won;t be able to blow fuses, even when they fail completely.

Power tubes are THE most common reason for fuses to blow in tube amps.

So expecting to replace power tubes meant only the 6L6s. But it never hurts to have a spare 12AX7 on hand.

i really appreciate the info. if the power tubes and not an already defective fuse ( i ve heard that too about those amps) is the problem, i ll have them changed by an expert, since i dont really want to cause more damage to it. i just hope the whole unit will operate again, somehow i got a mental image of the whole thing being fried, for no apparent reason! many thanks for the help again.

Wonder if he was engaging the stanby before power down..
Bleeding the amp rather then throwing the juice before warming is a bad habit!
