hello. i have a headstrong lil' king (same as a bf princeton reverb) for repair from a friend. he told me, there was a loud crackling noise (i didn't hear it) during a gig, which went away after a few seconds, and now the amp has not as much output as before, it distorts very early (on about under 3, normally it starts to break up at half volume). haven't had the time to do measurements on the voltages now. the tubes showed a big missmatch in bias. same thing with new tubes. (changed all of the tubes, same thing...) any ideas, what the problem could be? coupling caps? the other thing is, if you turn the reverb and tremolo up all the way, there is a clicking noise, like you have it in a tremolo with lfo, but this amp has no lfo...??? thanks for your help!!!

Start by looking at the PI coupling caps and the screen resistors. One of those things is likely the cause of the mismatch.
And there's always R.G.Keen's Tube Amp Debug Page
Hope this helps!

I'd call that gone.
