  • power/standby in one switch?

is there a way to wire a 3-position toggle switch as both a main power on/off switch and standby/operate switch? thanks for your replies....

Unless you get a special 2-pole switch that's off-on-on, you can wire a more standard 2-pole on-off-on so that in the lower position it's in standby, and quickly flip it all the way up to run the amp. I've seen some old Univox amps (IIRC) with a switch like this.

the Ampeg is a good design, of course few switches are rated to handle the high DC B+ voltage; there will be arcing and a need to eventually replace but they can last a long time if a beefy one is used:

        if you like surplus...under $4

I've done it that way before. Not exactly elegant, but it works when real estate is limited.

            Progressive Three Way Switch

These work for me. Look in the switches heading, under Parts.
