Man that's great! Thank you so much! I'll have to check it out. Hopefully the shipping isn"t as high as shipping from ceriatone in Malaysia. Shipping from there is almost as much as the Edcor tranny!

For an amp like that you can also use the heyboer stuff that mojotone sells. Just get a 50W PT for a Superreverb. That one covers all the needs.

BTW, perfectly bent wires does NOT sound like the way to do it for the Dumble method. Might work just fine though.

      Good luck!

"For the Ceriatone HRM as an example, the XPWR029 is an 11lb monster for ~$84 (700V(350-0-350)@400mA, 50V@500mA & 6.3V(3.15-0-3.15)@7.5A)"

400mA? He has the 50watt, not the 100watt.

That is a nice thought. Ceriatone HRMs don't work that way. They use a seperate 6v tap on the transformer to run the switching relays. I did manage to find the actual builder and get some info on the one I have.

as for the wiring,,, the perfectly bent wires, I will agree, are not the way to go. It was the builder's attempt to quiet the amp down from the noise introduced from running the switching section off of the heater tap. It was an unsuccessful attempt I might add. That's why the project was left without transformers. They went back home to the 5F4 Super they came from.

Thanks though for the input. I just went ahead and ordered the trannys from ceriatone.

You caught that too,,, I looked at the Edcor site and didn't find anything useable except a seperate 6 v tranny I could've used for the relays.

IME bigger is better unless you are carrying it... He could use the XPWR109
              700V(350-0-350)@175mA & 6.3V@4A $50.47

but would need to pull the 60v off the B+ tap

Well, you could have used the 5V heater tap for the rectifier tube to power the relays.

                Check my website.

I know the ODS inside out.

Good luck with the amp. :-)
