First post! need help getting a PT back running!

Hi guys,im new to all the but I have the PT and OT from an Orange AD30 that I want to use to build my first amp....
my first problem is......the leads from the primary on the OT are cut really short







so before my imagination runs wild on 4x15,30 watt monsters with built in leslies...eh how do I fix this problem???

This is how I would repair:

Strip back the insulation (being careful not to pull the remaining wire out of the windings)
You could hold the remaining wire with long nosed pliers or strip them carefully with a scalpel blade (like sharpening a pencil).
Tin the stripped end which should be about 1/4" long and hold the extention new wire end (also pre tinned) alongside and solder them together parallel to each other.
Insulate with two layers of heat shrink tubing.
Re assemble the end covers with the repaired connections tucked inside.

Should be A OK. I have done this several times.
If you are worried you could also place some extra insulating material around the repair and inside the end covers.
