  • Ashdown MAG600 volume?

Hi! I bought an Ashdown MAG600 amp a couple years ago because my Hartke 3500 MOSFET died. It claims to have 575 watts at 4 ohms. I have to crank the amp up all the way to get a half way decent volume. Well, I just fixed my Hartke amp, which is rated at 350 watts at 4 ohms. I turned the volume on the Hartke up to 2 and it was louder than the Ashdown turned up to 10. Does anyone know if this is normal for this Ashdown amp or could there be some type of issue with it? The amp has never overheated and the sound quality is decent, just not nearly enough power for the rating they give it. Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions?

Are you sure that the amp doesn't have an sdjustable pad on the input?

There is an input volume and an output volume. I have both of them cranked up. I haven't taken the amp apart yet. It's in a rack and I thought I'd see if anyone had similar issues or any thoughts before I tear into it.
