Hi all - new to the forum and I don't really know much about how tube amps work.
I've got a Peavey Classic 20 that isn't working.
I took the tubes out of the amp while traveling, and then mistakenly put them back in the wrong slots. The EL84's where the 12AX7's should be, and vice versa.
I turned on the amp, quickly smelled a burning smell and saw a little smoke so I turned the amp off.
Later I realized the tubes were switched. I've put them back in the right spots, and turned the amp back on. No more smoke, but no sound either.
I know a good tech I'm going to take it to, but any idea how bad this is? I'm hoping it's something simple...
Thanks in advance.
