    Gibson resurrection

Does it still have the field coil speaker installed in it?
Was the original 6N6 replaced with a 6L6?

Yes the speaker is the field coil type. When I got the amp it had two metal
      6l6's.

Found this in the Gibson manual, if it's any help. This EH150 uses 6L6's

There are at least 4 versions of the EH-150, sounds like you've got one of the later ones. Did they switch to eyelet boards in the end? I thought they were all PTP.

          Also, pics?

Sorry, no pics. The one I worked on was built in 1938? It was all PTP.

              Pic

Here is a pic of the amp I am working on.

What I need to know is the revised scheme(amp as currently wired) is electrically sound or should I change it to the original scheme? For example should I have the B+ node before the field coil go to the OT instead of the B+node after the field coil going to both the OT and screen supply as it is currently wired.

I wouldn't change it. Unless I'm mistaken the field coil is used as part of the filtering circuit, like an inductor. Both scats that are posted do this. A lot of the early Gibson amps and also some Fender amps had the B+ going through the inductor before the O.T. center tap connection.
