Super Reverb Bias?

I recently picked up a 77 SR. The man said he put new tubes in himself(JJ-6L6). He is no Tech. I noticed it has tube balance pot and was wondering about bias and pot explanation. On a side note,,It's all original, amp cover,footswitch,even the RCA-7025 tubes

The tube balance pot takes the set bias and adjusts the balance between the two sides. Unless you modify the amp for bias adjust - which many people have done - you can't set the amount of bias, only the balance.

Turn all the controls to zero, power up, listen to the amp. Turn the tube balance control for the least amount of hum.


That is not the same thing as a hum balance pot on the heater wiring. For that one you turn your controls up and again, adjust it for least hum.
