Peavey Classic 50 2/12 question

I've got a Peavey Classic 50 2/12, ten years old. Lately the mid range control has no effect and amp has an overall trebly sound. Could the original tubes need replacing?

If a tube was bad it wouldn't affect the mid pot only.
I'd assume the mid pot might be bad - or it's connection(s) to the board. If you don't have experience in tube amp repair I'd bring it to a qualified tech, since the voltages in tube amps are LETHAL.
Changing a bad pot shouldn'd cost a fortune.
