Which reverb tank are you using?

    Hi,

I just bought an amp just like yours, 1961 Ampeg Reveberocket .
    [6V6GT, 2 x 6SL7, 2 x 6SN7 Rectifier: 5Y3GT]
The reverb tank has a dead transformer, and one of the spring hooks had broken off and is lost.
I'm looking to buy a replacement, I know it should be capacitor coupled, but I can't see any model numbers on it, so I don't know which model I need.

Which accutronics model are you using?

    thanks,
    Erez.

      reverb, tremolo, and Humming??

      Erez,

Congrats on purchasing a great amp!

Mine has a 4FB3D1B Accutronics reverb tank, although now that I am looking into it I am not sure if it is the right replacement.

Can anyone weigh in on this? Mine sounds fine, but maybe it could sound cooler?? Anyone have a source for the original Hammond tanks?

A quick google search turned up this one:
      http://http://kendrick-amplifiers.co...ry_Code=060409
      Is this the right tank?

Also, while I'm at it: Still haven't ordered new tubes yet, so trem is still not oscillating at slower speeds...

And last but not least: In using the amp in a recording session recently I noticed that the amp hums; not enough to be unusable, but enough that everyone noticed. It is definitely louder than any of the other tube amps that I own. All caps in the amp have been replaced and the output tubes are brand new Groove Tubes....

        Hi,

The reverb tank you suggested,4FB3D1B, seems to be the correct one.
Assuming the faulty reverb tank on my amp is the original, the DC resistance and grounding configuration matches the 4FB3D1B model, according to this table:

        Accutronics Reverb Tanks

        Thanks,
        ERez.
