Weird noise on Peavey Valveking head

Hey.. I don't understand much about amps but i recently bought a Peavey Valveking 100 head and it makes a strange noise when switched on. Like sea waves or someting. I tried in different speakers and places in case it was the eletric current thing (sorry my english kinda sucks) but the noise is still there.. Does anyone have an idea what it might be? Or had the same prob? Thanks =)

Go to the Peavey website Forum and either ask that question or do a search on Valveking and you'll find a good deal about it. I remember reading something about that amp but can't remeber. If you turn the gain down it will most likely stop.

The high gain channel will make more hiss noise than the clean. Higher gain amps are just noisier.

If you have a noise for a brief period but then goes away, it is just a tube heating up.
