  • Peavey VTM 60 Blows fuse

I know this question will have alot of answers. Fella on craigslist has a vtm 60 that is blowing fuses when switched off standby. Have owned a couple of these in the past and might try to pick it up on the cheap if I can get it fixed for little money. What would be the most likely cause? Bad output tube, bias resistor? Like I said lots of answers. Any thoughts? Might be a potential to sent to Jerry at FJA. Thanks, Frank

    Peavey VTM 60

Worst case ($) power transformer. Which I kinda doubt. It is a Peavey. Tough amps.
    Most probably a power tube.

Hope that's all it is if I pick it up!

Not the transformer, the plate supply is hot right from power up. If the tranny were4 bad, the standby would not matter.

I'd certainly pull the power tubes, they are the first suspects.

Possible shorted filter cap at the screen node or later.
