  • Dead Vibrato: Fender Twin Reverb Reissue

I think I may have jostled something when I moved the amp around, and now the vibrato does not work when I turn either the speed or intensity knobs. It did work at one time. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

I dont know if the RI Twins are wired the same as their earlier counterparts, but you must have the footswitch attached (or a shorting plug) to have the vibrato (tremolo actually) work. Maybe the FS got disconnected when the amp was moved around?

      hm.

Are you talking about the metal footswitch that allows you to switch between the clean channel and the vibrato channel? That has to be connected to the amp, even if I'm plugged into the vibrato input?

The Twin Reverb does not switch channels, the footswitch allows you to turn on,(or off), the tremelo, and reverb. The reverb will work without the footswitch plugged in.

It doesn't have to be connected, but the vibrato wont be on if the footswitch is not connected (and turned on of course). Reverb will work even without the FS, but not the vibrato. Some make little shorting plugs for the vibrato (trem), that way you dont have to connect the FS.
