  • Evans amp schematic ?

Called the company, they say they "don't sell parts for those, because we make them completely differently now, and a schematic will cost you $ 20.00".

    Anyone got one ? It's a model E-150 s/n 970821-A, which I am told is "similar to a FET-300" whatever that means.

Blown output and driver, but I'd feel better with a roadmap....thanks guys

Kinda makes you feel all warm and fuzzy towards that brand, don;t it?

      Hi fuchsaudio.
Well, I think you may have to bite the bullet.
What I'd do is get that schematic anyway, and post it here for fellow technicians to see it and help you with your problem.
Many brains *may* think more than one.
      Well, sometimes
      Good luck.

They are about the worst company I have ever tried to talk to. They gave me the same story once. At least you were offered a schematic. They had none for the amp that I had to repair and it was just about five years old!

I don't recall the power amp being that complex where you could not get by without a schematic to get it going, however I do remember that even fixed, the power amp was very unstable due to its loose design.

Evans amps are one of the very few brands I just will not work on and frankly, a Peavey Session or Nashville amp, or an old Fender Pro all sound better for steel anyway.

I hope the best for you.

        Steve

Heard on a steel guitar forum that some schematics were rumored to be available on Evan`s site in the past.

I`m trying to get in through the back door but links keep timing out.

I've got the FET500 schem. It's kinda fuzzy.

Got this one...which helped me resolve the issues with the amp. Hopefully, it helps others.....

Hi fuchsaudio and twist, I'd LOVE to see the preamp, even if fuzzy.
The power amp is very conventional (nothing against that) but I never saw those funny Depth, Body, etc. controls.
                    TIA

I'll ask the guy who sent me this. He said he was "drawing up a clean copy of the preamp schematic.." not sure if he ever finished it..

                        This might help then.

Thanks. Definitely a "different" design, clearly tries to mimic tube response.
I have an Evans full Tube schematic, will compare it to the SS version, probably they are very much alike.
                          Thanks again.

Wow, it would be curious to see the tube Evans schematic if you could post it ?

                              Here you are.
They are basically the same, considering the differing technologies.
