  • AVT150H Valve Replacement

i am not one for pickin up a screwdriver let alone fiddling with amps but i think my valve needs to be replaced in my Marshall AVT150H (have had amp for about 3 years) is it an easy job to do for replacing just one myself or have i got to take it somewhere to have the valve replaced ???? thanks for any help and also what is the best valve for a replacement one Ecc83

ECC83, 12AX7, 7025 - all are the same thing. ANy 12AX7 your local store has should work just fine.

To change it, one must dismount the amp chassis from the wooden cab. ALWAYS work with the power removed. The tube pulls straight out of the socket, and hte new one pushes straight in. Align the "missing" pin on the tube with the space in the ring of holes in the socket. There may be some sort of springy wire thing clamping the tube in place. That is easily swung aside to free the tube.
