buying tube ?

hey all, i was just wondering if there is marketing jargon to watch out for
when buying new tubes for an amp. i notice alot will say match,tested,high gain,
like on euro tubes or other sites. any advice on buying tubes? i know what most of it means though according to them.

What do you exactly mean?

Preamp tubes?
Power tubes?
What amp or circuit?
What kinda music are you gonna play over the amp?

All these things have to be considered when you buy tubes.

well i was thinking replacing all pre and power 3 12xa7 4 el84 since they were bought in 99' , music type is not specific since i like to play all music but for distortion classic rock, amp is peavey delta blues with a/b channel select, i use B channel for distortion since i have no attenuator for power tubes.
