  • Help with Peavey Bravo

I am new to the electric guitar world and recently purchased a Peavey Bravo. After playing it for about a week it just crapped out on me. I'm not completely new to electronic circuits, but I'm not on nearly your level so I'm coming to you for some help. Today my amp lost sound output after playing for about 30 mins and I noticed that the not so sweet smell of burnt electronics was starting make itself known. So I killed the power and decided to take a look. It looks like R62 got fried. I have pics available upon request. Thx for the help everyone!

Here's the schematic. That's a power supply resistor just upstream of the EL84 power tube screens. Something downstream of it started drawing too much current. Very likely one of the EL84 tubes shorted, or C45. Especially if the downstream resistors R63 and R64 don't look scorched.

Agree with Alex on a tube short and hopefully it didn't take the screen resistor out.
