Ok i could use some help here. I have a peavey classic 50 212 combo and the amp sounds good for awhile then i get some very bad noise. I have unpulgged all pedals, still there. I have tried my other guitar. still there. but when my band mate plugs his guitar in it sounded fine. I am completely at a loss, both my guitars can't be "bad" right?? I do know that all my pots are dirty because they scratch as they turn , could that be the problem??

I have had this amp since 96 and I believe it is an early 90's I have Never had a problem with it. Very frusterating any help or ideas in isolating the problem would be great. thanks

Try you're guitars into another amp and see if it does it also with them. The other thing it could be is output tubes and maybe it doesn't do it until they get to a certain heat point.

I also am having the exact same issue and mine also is from i believe the late 90's. It seems like, if the amp sits for a few days, I plug in and turn it on and it rocks for about 45 min if I'm at band practice playing it at around 4, 4.5 out of twelve on the volume...then....all of a sudden, on the lead channel I get this LOUD hum and along with the hum is a clicking type sound. Tried 4 different guitars and tried switching the channels back and forth with NOTHING plugged into it and it still does it......any thoughts from anyone, it's really, really frustrating!!!!
