Arrgh!? How do I open the cabinet on my G10-XL ?

it seems to be sealed shut with an indestructible pebble-grain rubber sealant. Should I just take a razor blade to the seams, or is there a trick to getting this cabinet open?

    Many Thanks!

Maybe it's not meant to beopen !!
Post a couple pictures from different angles.
Maybe it's a one-piece box, with a front mounted speaker and a slide-out chassis, held by 4 screws, or something close to that.

The chassis comes out. It may be stuck to the tolex. Pry on it a bit with a smallish flat screwdriver.

I hate to revive an old thread, but I was surfing the net trying to find a schematic for a 1990 Crate G15XL and found your forum and this thread.

I see that Enzo attached a pdf, but this link seems to be empty.

Does anyone still have this schematic?

          Thanks.

Someone may beat me to it, but I do have it. Just not handy.

Two ICs and a power amp IC, not a complex amp. As with any small amp, always check the solder under the jacks and controls, and clean the headphones jack. if the phones work, but not the speaker, then either the phones jack is bad or the speaker and wiring is.

Thank you sir. The SCG channel stopped working rather suddenly. I didn't have a manual until yesterday, and was unaware of the foot switch functions, I have checked the switch, but that's all I have been able to get too so far. I thought I would look for a schematic because this is my first foray into amp repair and I didn't see a point in walking into it without a map.

Thanks so much for your reply.
