I have a peavey PA 120, keeps blowing main fuse. Help!

check the output transistors. Your output transistors can be removed by unscrewing the cover cap of each transistor first. That will expose another screw. Loosen that and the tranasitor can be taken out for checking. Watch out not to destroy the insulator under the transistor. they're probably 2N3055's. Google the datasheet and check for diode continuity between base and emitter and base and collector.(about .6 volts) See if collector to emitter is shorted. If not yer good to go to the next transistor. clean and recoat with thermal compound. Make sure the insulator is not cracked or compromised.

Be real careful when tightening the output transistors.
      That cap arraingement is goofy.
Peavey tech advised finger tight on the screws.
If you over tighten the first screw the transistor can crack through the insulator.
      That will blow a fuse.
