  • The Twin jack

Where can I find a replacement female foot switch jack for a red knob twin?

The tip and ring are shorted when no jack is present.

    Thanks

That part # is "Fender Mono Amp Jack" it looks identical

Is that not considered stereo because the tip and ring are switched?
Can I assume that they are switched? no data

      Thanks again

The part number is correct and the jack is a mono 1/4" with normally closed switch. The switch is only on the tip contact.

If it was stereo, it would have a tip, ring, and sleeve like the 25931 jack listed below the mono one with 9 pins.

Yes. It is a mono jack. The red knob twin uses a mono jack for the Foot Switch Jack. The part # is in your attached part list.

I am silly! I did not see that 0025929000 was 025929 lol

The cable is tip-ring-sleeve and that's exactly what the schematic shows:

I assume it's not called stereo because of the shunt

If I remember correctly it's only tip and sleeve. No ring. I also have a Red Knob Twin and I had built a footswitch for it. It's a 2 button foot switch. It shunts half of the wave form to to ground depending on which switch is activated using the diodes. Or something like that.

The way that jack is drawn on the schematic, I can see how you might interpret it as tip and ring shorted together, but that interpretation is incorrect; it's really just a closed circuit mono (TS) jack.

Edit again: So that diagram shows the sleeve is connected to ground when a jack is inserted? That's a 30v dead short then.

Should it have been this? It's a plastic jack

Actually there is a diode before the ground. This emulates the reverb switch on the FS. If there is no FS connected then reverb is default on.
