  • Fender Dlx Rev PT

I forgot I had this PT, and now I cannot remember how to wire it. Is this strictly 240V, or is this a dual voltage transformer. I have looked at some diagrams on-line, but I am still confused. I am not even sure which wire(s) I use for the bias voltage. Can somebody give me some guidance please. I know some of their PT had a dedicated wire that was for some kind of shield/screen in the tranny, but anyway....
Can I use this for 120 primary, and what wires are for what connection.?
    Thank You

    There is:
    Blk
    Blk-Grn (Primary?)

    Grn
    Grn (Heaters?)

    Red
    Red (Recto?)

    Ylw
    Ylw (Recto?)

    Red-Ylw
    Orng

    Red-Blk
    Ylw-Blk

    Hi,

the original color layout for export trannies is as follow:
    Primary:
    0V BLACK
    220V BLK/YEL
    230V GRN/BLK
    240V RED/BLK

    Secondary:
    HV RED
    BIAS RED/BLU
    CT RED/YEL
    HV RED

    6,3V GRN (Heaters)
    0V GRN

    5V YEL (Tube Rectifier)
    0V YEL

However, there is no guarantee that this fits your transformer, the best would be a first measurement to determine which are primaries and which are secondaries. After that you can apply eg 5V ac voltage to the tube rectifier secondaries and measure on the primary side so you can calculate the ratio and primary voltage.
I can fix everything, where is the duct tape?

      Thanks bluesfreak -
So this is not a dual volt primary that I can wire parallel for 120 and series for 240, nor does it have a 120 tap.?
Strange, I could have sworn I removed this from one of our amps that was running on USA 120 from the wall. I really could have sworn we used this amp, but then again I cannot be sure. It has probably been TWO years since this was in an amplifier.....
I don't know what to think.

As far as I know on 7enders product phisolophy they never had a trannie of supporting 110-240Vs, only 110/120V type for US and then export type so ( I haven't dealt with US Transformers much) it could be that yours is a 120V only. If you do it the way i already recommended by connecting the transformer backwards you can measure and check if the cabling is correct and your trannie is a 120V only version.
