One of my day gig clents is a large machine shop. They use carburator cleaner to clean gunked up steel. I tried it on a BF Bassman chassis and it worked great.

Remove the faceplates first though, it takes verry little to obliterate the graphics. I wouldn't use much more than a damp cloth and, maybe, a little dish soap for the faceplates.

Carb cleaner is usually not much more than cellulose thinners in an aerosol! Very risky around painted panels and graphics.

          Another "cleaner".....

I like using WD-40 to remove gummy/sticky stuffs. It works great to remove
the adhesive from duct tape, and is gentle on most paints.

            Old Dawg,

What I'm trying to find out is: what's inside the hot tank?
