  • PT for a tiny supro SE amp from 1949?

    I have a little Supro on my bench and I'm trying to fix it for a friend of a friend. It's in pretty decent shape but has a bad power transformer.

    It's about the size of a champ PT and I'd bet one would work except it'd be too tall and wouldn't fit above or below the chassis. The original is a Z mount PT that's mounted with the transformer below chassis level and only the cover on top.

      Maybe one of the vintage gurus will weigh on the necessary part number. I guess more than anything the trick here is fitting the bolt pattern.

      Here's a guy who makes repro valcos and oahus. Maybe he could suggest the correct replacement:
