  • Marshall AVT150 - DC volts on output?

Hi, I'm working on my friends avt150. It was a fuse popper. I determined that the output IC's were shorted. I replaced them and powered the amp up with a light bulb limiter. It runs with no short, the only problem is that there is -37 volts on the speaker output! This seems wrong and I am afraid to go any further because of how finiky these chips are. I also connected a dummy load to the output and it lit the bulb up bright in short pulses. Any help would be appreciated.

Are the output chips shorting to the heatsink? Or is the heatsink shorting to the chassis?

The chips are insulated with the mica. I confirmed with an ohm meter.

Both supply rails present and roughly equal?
          Solid ground?

Check the shielded signal line from the preamp, is there DC on that?
My rants, products, services and incoherent babblings on my blog.

The DC supply volts were equal. I will check the signal for DC volts tonight. Thank you for the reply.
