Hi. Im probably going to bin this as Ive already blown two output chips due to my poxy signal generator so this is purely out of curiosity now. It came to me with what sounded like full distortion all the time. Both from the speaker and headphones. This one has an aux in phono sockets (my diagram doesnt) and putting a signal into there it comes out nice and clean.
So, assuming the output is ok I checked all the volyages on the preamps and all seemed fine, +/- 23 and +/- 15. clean and stable.
I then started putting a signal in but due to my generator being a very old very basic almost hobby type one and not being adjustable in any way, I touched it to one of th econtacts on the drive switch and pop went th eoutput chip. I replaced this as i had one in stock, its only a 2050 and started again. touched it to the aux input and pop again. I gave up at this point as it isnt really financially viable to continue with it but I just wondered if anyone had any ideas?
Also, anyone see a decent cheap signal generator on ebay they could recommend?
