marshall valvestate screeching

marshall valvestate screeching

Can anyone offers any pointers as to why a Marshall Valvestate should work ok for around five minutes then start making a constant screeching noise. Any and all thoughts gratefully received!

Every valvestate I've ever heard was screechy. But they don't normally screech without an input signal.....
The farmer takes a wife, the barber takes a pole....
