  • please help ID a small fuse

    Hi,

Can someone help ID a small fuse?

It's on the DC power supply input of a of small preamp/mixer.

The input jack accepts 12-30vDC of either polarization.

This fuse is in mounted internally on the circuit board.

I had one replacement and it is working but I need to order a few more for spares.

I am searching at the Mouser site and am overwhelmed with the lack of specs I have available and the choices at Mouser.

Does anyone have an educated guess as to what the specs might be when I look at the Mouser site?

    thanks,
    mike

Sure looks like a 2A fuse to me, surface mount type.

C'mon, why make it hard on us? What unit is it used in? We might just be able to look on a schematic and read what it is meant to be.

    SOmething like:

Look at Mouser 576-0451002.MRL as an example.

      Hi Enzo,

      Thank you for the reply.

I was just being timid because I know this is the guitar amp forum but you all are the most helpful and informed folks I have ever met so I dared ask here.

The fuse as shown is removable... I pulled it from a mount that was attached to the board. I replaced that fuse with a spare and it is working fine.

The preamp is a Shure FP33 mini mixer. It is usually used as a over the shoulder pre amp for use on video crews.

It is my preamp and I do that sort of work. Most of us use an auxiliary rechargeable battery we carry in a "bag" with a mixer and small power cabling to power a variety of items.

Shure has a part number that is exclusive to their company parts listing. I don't have the number handy but did look it up in my manuals before trying to shop for a replacement.

I was hoping to place an order with a large parts vendor without having to call and order direct from Shure.

      edit to add:

I read the links you suggested and see that you are correct in that it is a LittleFuse. Now that I recognize the LF logo I am wondering if the third symbol with the triangle means something special.

thanks very much for the links.

      best regards,
      mike

DO you have the Shure schematic? Fuses in power leads are not usually anything cosmic. 2A is 2A, you need to know fast blow or slow blow, but mostly the rest is irrelevant.

The link I provided was an ultra-fast type. It was the first surface mount type I came to with approximate 2.5x6mm size, I selected it for that reason. There may be others in that shape better suited.

GO to Mouser, search "2A fuse" Then select "fuses." I think there are a couple thousand of them. CLick "stocked" to reduce that by half or more. Then I scrolled the filters down to find SMT on type, and dimensions as described. Hunt from there.

          Hi,
Thanks for the extra info. Yes, I was just doing what you suggest... looking at the various fuses on the Mouser page and using the filters.

I do not have a schematic.

The slow blo has a T label so that leaves me thinking a fast acting fuse may be fine.

          best regards,
          mike
