peavy minx 110

i just bought a peavy minx 110 used it once put it in my truck went to a friends pluged it in it made a humming noise and blew the fuse instintly.i bought it used , i was wondering if there was something common that would cause this.

It's an internal short circuit, of course - perhaps transformers and output transistors are the most likely components to go short and blow fuses.
